The 2006 Long Island Fire, Rescue, & EMS Mega Show is coming to the Expo Center at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale on Saturday, January 28, and Sunday, January 29, 2006. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are on sale at the door on the day of the show, or for pre-registration departmental vouchers, call 631-669-4300.
Anyone plan on going?

Elmsford still has one and we use it 24/7. Our horn will actually tell us the type and location of the call, for example if 1-4- is blown, then it is a rescue call. It's good for places that you cant have our pagers on, or if you don't have yours with you.

ill get as many as i can....thing is i get in BIG TROUBLE if there sold or reproduced for sale...put a water mark over them so that they cant be!

Garrity lights are great. i have 1 on my helmet and keep a backup in my coat. (i sometimes use just my coat for ems calls) I love them. They work just as good as most other lights, they are small, and super cheap. ( i buy mine at CVS!)

I drove past Elmsford firehouse tonight, it's simple but looks nice. For the holidays, do you guys switch one ladder for one engine to get a "red & green" theme in each house?lol

i mean, if fairview has a structure fire, would they not call elmsford because they are volunteer? and if they did would there be tension?im from elmsford, and fairview has called us for m/a to many times to count. and we always work with eachother well.
i think the tension is caused by a few bad apples, who view volunteers as a threat to their jobs.

I love my 5!
my old 2 was shot.
the clip was broken, and my battery would last 3/4 of a day if i was lucky
the 5 is great, and i love the playback
only downside is i cant use the vibrate feature, because my tones are to long. it will vibrate and then squelch, so it defeats the perpose.
also my department does not dispatch out of 60 control, so i dont have the problems mentioned above as far as other departments setting mine off.

over here in elmsford we have a gym in the basement of our engine company.
it is used, however they started to remodel the basment for 58-b2 to be housed, so the gym is covered in construction dust because someone left the door open
