Was up there today checking it out. Man what a nice rig it is. Lettering and Stripes should be going on early next week.
Also, when i get to them, ill be putting up a few more pictures.

Congrats man, enjoy it.
As for a housewarming party, I think we are going to need to use the "2 in, 2 out" concept or call a dedicated FASTeam. We wouldnt want to break any fire codes for over-crowding either.

After reading the two posts about the large brush fires in both Brooklyn and Queens, I got to thinking. First, I find it absolutely awesome that they called in the VFDs for their brush trucks.
Second, does the FDNY have brush trucks stationed in parts of the city for this purpose? Or do they feel that it would be a duplication of services since the VFDs have them?

Anyone know when "Radio Bulletin 3" is going to come out? There were supposed to be four of them about this system and its been a long time since the second one came out.

It means the purchase of a new ladder truck. They, along with all other municipalities, are required by law to make public notice of their intentions.

Hey,
I am looking for email addresses for the chiefs of the Pound Ridge and Croton Falls Fire Departments.
Send me a PM if you have them please. I will delete the post once I receive them.
Thanks,

Unfortunately I lost the first bunch I had of fire blowing out the third and fourth floors on the number 2 side.

GOYANKS,
I meant its first "run" or "call". Getting it to Katonah was technically a voyage of sorts too.
-
Each tanker that came down had anywhere from a 2 to 4 member crew.
Fortunately the new T-6 didnt make its maiden voyage down here, although many of us were hoping for it.
-
I've been looking into it. I do have family there too, even if they dont have residency preference.

Diet Pepsi with the stunt double and the FedEx. The best two by far.

Sovereign1,
I rememeber that one. I was in 5th grade at the time. During recess just about everyone was standing on the hill watching the flames shoot out of the top floor and roof. I also distinctly remember when FDNY showed up. They got off the Hutch NB and flew around the corner, over the bridge and up to the scene almost like they were filming a movie.

Word is, first saturday in June for the test. Application in March I believe.

The new FDMV Tower Ladder was not sent to this job. As per one of my fellow members on scene, the old Mack was sent.
-
This call was the second in two days for the same exact location and same apartment, at the same time of the day. Both turned out to be stove fires.

A plan EW? I dont suppose you are going to spill the details of that plan just yet are you?

I am in the process of getting a complete listing for all members of my dept. and when the county was contacted, they said they needed the last 4 digits of all the socials from the people we wanted included. Maybe that helps some of you.
-
Guys, come on. A dept is only as good as whats its got to work with. FDMV does one hell of a job trying to protect the City. Enough about all the "higher ups" trying to cut corners and what-not.
Lets not forget that Politicians arent there for ONE agency, they are in place because the General Public put them there. Im not saying that I am in favor of what goes on, but sometimes public voice is more powerful than a specific dept. of govt.
-
heavy, its not always abotu getting them into service quickly. remember, these are new pieces of apparatus and they dont always function like the old ones. training is a MUST. Im sure FDMV is working to get them into service as fast as they can. But id rather the guys know how to work them so that they are opperated safely and efficiently instead if just driven to a scene where they sit around and dump their hosebeds.

As an ice hockey official that has worked the empire state games several times, I can honestly say that the State takes care of the logistical stuff. Most of the staff for the games is Volunteer and I believe this includes most, if not all, of the doctors, nurses, emts, paramedics, etc.
They do one hell of a job organizing everything and even having several back up plans. The Games are a really great event and i encourage many of you, if you are around that week, to get involved in some fashion.
