NORTHERN WESTCHESTER VOLUNTEER FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION

FIREFIGHTERS’ SEMINAR

SHORTHANDED FIREFIGHTING

with

Firefighter Robert LaGrow, FDNY &

Training Officer

Michael Healy, Rockland Co.

This program deals with today’s manpower starved fire service. Whether your department is operated by volunteer or career crews, limited manpower plagues us all. The initial stages of the response often leaves firefighters in a very difficult and dangerous situation. This presentation provides interactivity with you, the frontline firefighter, by using those ideas you thought might not help this situation. These ideas may be the ones that will help save a brother firefighter in a time of need. Program features include discussion of the two-in two out rule, review of equipment to make sure it is user friendly, and review of your current training

practices including hose loads, ladder climbs, and other common practices on the fireground.
