Units Operating: E7,E10,E4,E33,E59,L15, L10 L6, L1,Sq18, Res1, Batt. 1 D-1

Description Of Incident: Various Manhole fires causing exposure problems.

14:29- Batt. 1 10-75.

14:30: L-8 fast. E-55 4th Engine.

14:33: Batt.1 s/c 2 extra enignes and trucks, and they are to respond on N mohr grenwich to hudson.

14:35: Manhattan: 2 engines are E-33 + E 10, 2 ladders are: L-6 + L-10

14:40: Manhattan to Batt. 1: report of 2 more manholes on N mohr. Con Ed reports the have lost the feeder.

14:44: Div 1 10-84.

14:49: Div 1: Continuing to use all hands, 4 manholes that were on fire with a exploding condition which are just smoking now. 3 buildings with elevated CO readings, continuing to monitor.

15:08: Div 1: Command post on corner of N Mohr/ Varick. Con Ed 10-84, Elevated CO readings of 120 Parts per million.

15:23: Div 1: using 4 engines + 4 trucks, rest fast. Putting water in manholes as Con Ed advises.
