Habitat For Humanity to rebuild New Rochelle House

Last Friday night, September 15, a fire broke out in Mr. Pond's home in New Rochelle. The fire, smoke and water destroyed most of the house. He escaped the inferno with minor burns.

Mr. Pond, 87, will be forever remembered for his dedication to the neighborhood. Every holiday, decorations were set up that attracted hundreds, sometimes thousands to the area. He spent his own money and created a basketball court in his driveway for the kids to play. The community owes a big thanks.

Tomorrow, Saturday September 23 at 8:00 am, neighbors, friends and Habitat for Humanity will begin their efforts in hope of rebuilding. Help would be greatly appreciated
