Joint-Battalion Drill

3 posts in this topic

I just wanted to thank Battalion 17, Lake Mohegan FD and all others involved in coordinating this great opportunity. It was, for me anyway, one of the better drills I've been lucky to be a part of because it was a REAL BUILDING and not a simulation.

Does anyone have any ideas about how we can increase the number of building we can use for realistic training? I am familiar with the NFPA 1403 standards and all the other legalities - but anyone know a way to promote to our public to give us old structures?!

It was fun working with some of the Departments I haven't had the chance to for a few years.

Those in attendance were (by Battalion)

Battalion 10

Peekskill: 2341, 2342, E134 FAST

Buchanan: 2552, 2553, U12

Verplanck: Personnel only with Montrose

Montrose: 2272, E121

Croton: 2081, E119 FAST

Battalion 17

Continental Village: 2132, 2133, E230

Mohegan: 2262, 2264, 2266, 22610, E255, E258 & VAC

Yorktown: 2531, E270 FAST

Millwood: 2253, E247

Plus Battalions 10 & 17 and Field Comm 1 from WCDES.

I hope we all get to work together some more - I think drills where we all work together has disappeared for way too long!

simple solution, just do what batallion 14 has done in the past years, use the fire training center, they are going to be at the training center three different nights.departments are hastings, dobbs, ardsley, irvington, elmsford, sleepy hollow, north tarrytown,i believe, they use every training site on campus.

they are called" BREAD AND BUTTER DRILLS"

Here's a shot of most of the rigs at the staging area.

It looks like E230, E119, 2081, U12, 2341, E134 & E121.

PS - How can I shrink this image on here?
