Blaze destroys Croft Road home

A Town of Poughkeepsie home was destroyed by fire this afternoon.

Arlington firefighters responded to 21 Croft Road near Schoolhouse Boulevard for a report of a structure fire about 1:30 p.m.

“The garage and the room over the garage were fully engulfed on arrival,” Arlington Assistant Chief Tony Alongi said.

Fire had consumed most of the left side of the house, with the damage stretching from the collapsed garage and second story toward the front door in the home’s center. Heavy smoked billowed from the heavily damaged home, drifting downwind along Croft Road.
