60 Control Trunking

5 posts in this topic

Has anyone programmed the trunked frequencies in their scanner yet and has been able to monitor any of the testing? I programmed my BC785D with the frequencies and the spacing and i still hear nothing. Here is what i put in....

1 2

Base: 470.3000 476.0000

Spacing: 12.5 12.5

Offset: 380 570

North Zone 470.32500 470.35000 470.37500 470.52500 470.55000 470.57500*

South Zone 470.07500 470.10000 476.07500 476.11250 476.21250* 476.23750*

Should the setting on the scanner be on "control ch only" ??

Make sure you have it programmed for Motorola. Control Channel only will only work for 800Mhz Systems.

I have not picked up anything either. Up until about a week ago I could hear them testing on the system, but that seems to have been completed. I guess they are reviewing the results of the testing to verify the system operates as to design spec's.

Surfing around the FCC's site, found that Westchester County has a pending application for two new frequency pairs for the South Zone. Base freq's. are 470.0250 & 470.2000 with an output of 110 watts. Looks like these might possibly be replacing 470.0750 & 470.1000 which are only licensed for 80, 25 & 60 watts at the three South sites. The remaining South Zone freq's. 476.0750, 476.1125, 476.2125, 476.2375 are already licensed for 110 watt operation.
