East River near 59th street?

Today, while driving southbound on the FDR, I saw a bunch of FDNY boats and some NYPD boats cruising around near 59th street, and some more, including the Kevin Kane, up near the 70s. Also, FDR NB was CLOSED, blocked up with NYPD rescue truck and some FDNY units. Anyone know what was going on?

There was an EDP near the Queensboro, if that could be what you saw. He jumped off the sea wall near the footing of the bridge and was recovered by NYPD divers, "likely."

Have the weekly "sunken boat" emergencies in the East River finally ended? There were several large metal floats as part of the ongoing construction that people would call in as an overturned boat about once a week for a while.
