Sound Beach FD 1931 Seagrave Model

Today I got my 1931 Seagrave Model of the Sound Beach volunteer fire department in Greenwich CT. I got it from motormint, but westchestercollectibles has it on pre order.

The Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department of Old Greenwich, CT acquired this pumper in July 1931 for $13,000 from the Seagrave Fire Apparatus Co. Unlike the Dept. engines before it, Engine 3 contained a booster tank which for the first time carried water instead of chemicals. It remained in service until 1964, when it was sold to a collector in Clarion, Pa. The engine was reacquired by SBVFD firefighters in 1979 for $5,000, and a six-year refurbishing followed. This finely-crafted replica has captured all the details - right down to the clam shell decorations on the engine hood covers.

One word for that rig: IMPRESSIVE.

I hope she shines on in your collection for years to come! Absolutely outstanding and beautiful!
