4 posts in this topic

Sunday, Novemember 25, 2100 hours.

The dispatch came over as a structure fire. When a chief acknowledged over the air he was informed that the caller could not remove her mother from residence. First arriving unit Engine 5022 found heavy fire conditions with family, neighbors and a local village PD officer attempting to rescue an elderly woman. The crew quickly gained entry and removed the woman with burns on 60-70% of her body. Cobleskill EMS were able to revive her and was transferred to a life-net helicopter in Duanesburgh.

Cobleskill was assisted on scene by Richmondville Fire Department with an engine and manpower, the county FAST, and Rural Metro ambulance stood by as both cobleskill ambulances transported victims to hospitals. One firefighter and one police officer received burns in the rescue efforts.

There were 4 firefighters who were trying to get her out, as well as two PD officers and two EMT's from the local Rural Metro Station right down the road trying to get to her. The PD officers got light burns to their face, a firefighter got burns on his ears. But all are ok and taking it as well as they should be. No arrangements have been made for CISD or any other sessions yet and Im concerned for why they have not done so.

Thanks for your concerns about the brothers.

As far as the sweatshirt?? Next time Ill tell the photographer to pose me better!! LOL

Stay Safe
