Its a growing problem that has been making headlines in areas around Chesapeake Bay. The antibiotics and birth control in the water have begun to show up in the fish and shellfish at significant levels.

It was in the article. People take pharmaceuticals, they process only a portion of the dosage and then they defecate/urinate into waste-water which ends up being processed and put back into the drinking supplies. The thing is, it still contains traces of those pharmaceuticals.

This sort of thing can't possibly have a positive effect years down the road. Whether infertility or high resistance to drugs or decimation of fauna... we're going to end up suffering for it.

It also stated in the story people were disposing of their perscriptions down the comode!
