...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND ADJACENT WESTERN NEW ENGLAND.

A COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH THE REGION THIS EVENING. BEHIND THE FRONT...WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH- NORTHWEST AND INCREASE TO AROUND 10 TO 15 MPH BY THURSDAY MORNING. DRIER AIR WILL ALSO MOVE IN THE REGION... WITH MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES MAINLY BETWEEN 20 AND 25 PERCENT THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 20 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP... POSSIBLY BECOMING GREATER THAN 25 MPH. THE COMBINATION OF LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS WILL CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR. LISTEN FOR LATER FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE RED FLAG WARNINGS

It is bad here is Schoharie County. We have had several severe brush fires and TONS of smaller ones already. The southern end of our county seems to be hit the hardest, they had one fire that lasted 1 1/2 days involving 50-100 firefighters, and our Forest Rangers.

Everyone refresh your brush fire skills, use the lightweight brush gear, stay hydrated and hope this passes soon!

Stay Safe
