Numerous larcenies from auto in area started this.

911 call about 1 in progress at 35 O'Dell Ave. Another victim flags down first arriving R/C and points out suspect running hiding something (Verizon laptop!). Foot Pursuit ensued, suspect fled due west down towards the Greystone RR Station, crosses the tracks and plays chicken for a while. Hotline requesting assistance and notifications to Hudson Line trains about condition. Suspect then makes a break for NJ by diving into the Hudson River. Now a first...well at least for me...swim pursuit ensues. Marine 1 after direction from many land loving officers finally captured "the only person in the pool". Yes, that is a quote...Suspect arrested and charged. Evidence recovered!
