Tractor trailer crash on I80

5 posts in this topic

This sounds like something that you only see in the movies like when everybody crashes into each other during a police chase. A tractor tralier crashed into a firetruck which then crashed into a police car.

HOPE (WABC) -- Four New Jersey State Police troopers escaped serious injury when a tractor-trailer plowed into their accident scene on icy Interstate 80 in Hope.

Great job by the FD in blocking the scene.

If you read the article, it says due to the fire truck blocking off a lane, the tractor trailer crashed into the back of the fire truck and not the PD cruisers preventing serious injury or death to the troopers.

Its a lot easier to replace a fire truck than it is to replace 4 state troopers. Good job to the local FD in taking care of scene safety in an always precarious situation.

If you saw the cars, they were damn lucky!!! One car bore a shocking resemblance to another rear-end collision involving a State Police Crown Victoria that had a far worse outcome.
