Mount Vernon honors retiring police captain with a promotion

Retiring Mount Vernon police Detective Capt. Angelo Fuccillo, commander of the Detective Division, was promoted to inspector today in a ceremony at City Hall.

Fuccillo is retiring tomorrow after 36 years on the force.

Police Commissioner David Chong said Fuccillo was being promoted in recognition of his dedicated years of service to the community.

The promotion was ceremonial; it does not carry a pay increase.
