Description Of Incident:

High Pressure Gas Main Break.

Gas visible shooting out of ground within 20 feet of RR tracks.

Report of up to 500 residents evacuated.

Metro North Harlem Line: Shut Down Both Directions

10:52 - Thornwood, 1 engine requested to Valhalla Station 2

10:53- Rescue 9 on location

10:57- TL-49 to scene for traffic control

10:58 - Thornwood 2471, E89 at valhalla station 2

11:01 - Thornwood units redirected to Valhalla Independent Fire Co. HQ

11:11 - North White Plains one engine requested at North Kensico and Broadway to block roadway

11:12 - 2471, E89 operating at scene

11:18 - 60-Control requests Progress Report and approx. number of Evacuees from 2481.

11:20 - Pleasantville, one engine requested to Valhalla, 14 Colombus Ave

11:20 - Car 2371 (Pleasantville) relocating

11:23 - Engine 75 (NWP) blocking traffic

11:34 - Engine 82 Located at Legion and Broadway

11:40 - Battalion 12 en route to scene

11:45 - Engine 259 (Pleasantville) relocated

11:46 - Battalion 12 on scene

11:55 - Tanker 12 (Pocantico Hills) requested to standby in quarters

11:56 - Car 2382 (Poc. Hills) acknowledges request

12:30 - MPPD Chief Alagno reported:

"No water service on West side of RR tracks, 3rd rail shut down to allow FD to stretch hoses across tracks. Con Ed gas has still not located valves to shut down leak"

12:35 - 60-Control reports Salvation Army ETA 45min

12:49 - Briarcliff Rescue 37 to Scene for Cascade Ops

12:49 - Hawthorne, One Engine to Valhalla FD

13:17 - 2481 reports Situation Under Control

13:41 - Battalion 12 going 10-8
