Child playing with candle caused two-alarm fire in Stamford

STAMFORD -- A child playing with a candle caused the two-alarm fire that displaced 12 Dolsen Place residents and destroyed half of a duplex there Monday, the city's fire marshal office said.

The office did not release the child's gender or age. The fire, which remains under investigation, began sometime before 3:17 p.m. Monday in a second floor bedroom at 31 Dolsen Place and then spread to the third floor and attic.

No one was injured....
