Training Opportunity:

Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings for First Responders

Limited Enrolment

On Tuesday, March 8, 2005, faculty of the United States Department of Justice Energetic Materials Research Testing Center will present a three-hour course on "Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings for First Responders." US Department of Justice is supporting several major initiatives to improve the capability of EMS agencies to respond to WMD incidents. This course is designed to provide performance-level training for firefighters, law enforcement personnel, emergency medical personnel, and other emergency responders who have significant responsibility for providing specialized support during WMD incidents, particularly those involving IEDs, explosives, or incendiary materials.

Your faculty for this training are Captain Bob Coulombe, Deputy COS Homeland Defense, New York Guard; and Joe Piraino, Provost Marshall 88th Brigade, New York Guard. Your hosts are Chief Bob Breen, New Castle PD; and Captain Joel Semel, Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Time is 7 o'clock pm at the Chappaqua Library theatre, located at 190 South Greeley Avenue in Chappaqua, New York. You and all members of your agency are cordially invited to attend.

To facilitate provision of certificates, seating, and adequate refreshments, we must have a head count. Please RSVP Captain Bob Coulombe at bobchappaqua@aol.com, or telephone 914-747-4322, day or evening. A few brochures outlining the program are enclosed for your edification. Maj. Gen. Thomas Cleland, member of the Board of Directors, Military Association of New York, will present an opening welcome and comments. We hope to see you there.
