Troopers, OCSO team up for drug war

GOSHEN – The State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team Hudson Valley and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office have joined forces into a single unit to fight drugs in Orange County.

Where the Sheriff’s Office has concentrated on street level narcotics activity and the State Police have concentrated on mid to upper level narcotics activity, the newly combined unit will have the personnel, funding and equipment to concentrate on all aspects of narcotics activity, said Sheriff Carl Dubois.

“It really provides a working model of how asset sharing between law enforcement agencies can enhance operations,” he said. “We consolidate intelligence and lower costs and I think this has always been a post September 11th goal.”
