FDNY EMS Physical Agility Test

5 posts in this topic

So I was reading about FDNY EMS' hiring process, and was wondering how difficult it may be. I know the physical involves a stair master (with a 40ilb vest), a ergonometer (the hand bicycle thing), the arm lift and the leg lift. I was wondering how difficult it is. Maybe some of the FDNY EMS members on here could help me, thanks.

If you are in decent shape you'll be ok. My partner took it a month ago without preparing for it and passed no problem but hes in good shape. I would say, make sure you can run 1.5 miles around 12:30 or less and you should be ok. Granted I have never taken it but I have done police agilities, mlitary agilities, and the CPAT. Good luck.

In a word...joke. Once you pass the medical, the agility pass rate is up over 90% last I heard. As long as you're in decent shape, you'll pass.

Its very easy. You will have no problem with it. Just run a little to prep.
