Hartsdale also goes by a points system.

To become a member you must be interviewed and voted in by the department and then sworn in. Befroe you could respond to alarms and rills you must under go a ten hour training session. The session can be brokne up into sections. Theres a section of knots, scba ppe, ladders, hydrants, arson awareness and apparatus review. This is taught at the training officers discretion and the trainee's. Then the member is able respond and be exteior only. to become interior they must pass basic intermediate and fire fighter survival. Upon finishing the ten hours, the member has to attend 75% or drill/ mettings and make 36 or more fire calls. Also they must stay osha certified and have an annual physical.
