1624hrs- Original call for gas odor at 7 Main St.

1630hrs- B-1 request a full assignment for major gas leak in area of Getty Square. Req. PD 4th Pct. to shut down all traffic to Getty Square. Units evacuating several buildings and req. Con Ed with a rush. B-1 req. half of assignment to stage on Riverdale Ave and half to stage on S. Broadway.

1642hrs- Main St from Broadway to Riverdale Ave. has been evacuated. PD notifying Libery Lines to re-route buses. Numerous PD units enroute.

1648hrs- Con Ed Gas O/S

1653hrs- 4th Pct. units evacuating Hudson St. Bet. Broadway and Riverdale Ave. (rear of 7 Main St.)

1706hrs- Con Ed advising PD that an underground gas line has ruptured at an unknown location. Patrol supervisor now advising units to close all stores/buildings in Getty Square area (Palisade ave/S. Broadway/N.Broadway/New Main St.). Patrol units responding from multiple Pct.'s, ESU responding.

1720hrs- Conditions remain unchanged. Buildings dept., City engineer, civil defense and OEM notified.

1738hrs- All effected buildings evacuated. FD holding original assignment, releasing other units. Levels remain high.

1854hrs- Holding R-1. All other units up. Area still shut down.
