John J. Gagliardi, a longtime resident of Goldens Bridge, died Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco. He was 71.

Mr. Gagliardi was born in Mount Kisco on Sept. 1, 1940.

He was retired from Petro Oil Co. in Norwalk, Conn.

He is survived by his children Wendy Voelker and her husband, Ron, of Patterson and Candy Torlish and her husband, Duane, of Brewster; grandchildren Mike, Erica, Tori and Alex; brothers Joseph and Nick; sister Nancy Gagliardi; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, on Jan. 19, 2008, and Rosemary Mazza and Gus Gagliardi.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home at 4 Woods Bridge Road in Katonah. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 5 at 11. Burial will follow at South Salem Cemetery.

Sadly John Gagliardi went to his grave not wanting to be associated with the current Golden's Bridge Fire Dept. He was a chief multiple times, commissioner and 50 year member. It's a disgrace to put it mildly. He deserved better.
