Gary Baisley's family and friends are uniting to raise money to help with his battle to get back on his feet and walk!

The Orangetown P.B.A. and the “Friends of Gary Baisley” are respectfully submitting a request for assistance from all of our friends and neighbors.

On August 6th a young man named Gary Baisley, 23 years of age, was involved in a very serious swimming accident in the Hudson River. His frightened friends pulled him out of the water and Gary was in cardiac arrest. By the grace of God there was an off duty Stony Point Police Officer nearby who began CPR; saving his life. His lungs had collapsed and they were infected with trapped salt water Gary’s neck was broken, shattering his C-5 and badly breaking his C-6 vertebrae. He was in the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY for 2 ½ weeks where he fought to stay alive through many surgeries. The day after the accident doctors informed his family that he was in complete organ failure and if he survived the night; he would be a quadriplegic at best.

Gary, a volunteer fireman from Congers New York, stunned the doctors and all the naysayers with his will to survive. At a time in his life when it would have been very easy for him to give up and quit; Gary went in the opposite direction. Gary's will and determination to walk again is not only an inspiration to everyone who knows him but a testament to the character of the young man we all knew him to be.

PLEASE DONATE!
