Purchase - Fatal MVA - 10/2/05

The actual location was on I-684 NB just as it begins from the Hutch NB in between the entrance to I-684 NB from I-287 WB. One car was on its roof with severe body damage and the second car was up a slight embankment not far from the overturned car. Several NYSP, WCPD, and Purchase FD units o/s. One line streched from a Purchase engine. All units were still o/s at 23:15 when I went past it.

Just a correction...Purchase is Rescue 30. In the IA it says R40(which is PC)

A TransCare medic on his way to work in WP actaully came upon the accident and was first on scene. A woman travelling NB(?) was the unfortunate victim that was already dead. WP 1,2, and Supervisor were dispatched and ended up on scene along with Harrison EMS. Entrapped was 1 male whose car was on its roof when it struck the other car. Somehow he crossed the median before he hit the other car. Harrison EMS ended up transporting the 1 male once extricated, all WP EMS clear by about 2320.
