Career Vs. Volunteer Arguments On EMTBravo.net

1 post in this topic

Members,

The whole "Career Versus Volunteer" nonsense here on EMTBravo.net has got to stop.

Some people focus so much on the "divide" that they can't see much else.

We are here to serve the public , and instead of each "side" throwing mud at one another because of stereotypes, bias, and prejudices, the smart ones on here should realize both "sides" aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Therefore, time and energy should be diverted from pointless, neverending arguments and turned into conversations about how we can all work together cohesively to provide top-notch emergency services.

The "Career Vs. Volunteer" arguments and bickering in the threads have got to stop, and the people involved have to quit embarrasing themselves. All it is is a neverending, ego filled, ignorant, chest thumping pissing contest. This board was launched in 2003, and 5 years later, the same exact comments from both sides still persists, yet I've rarely seen anyone try and rationalize, comprimise, or work towards a resolution. Both sides have serious flaws, and obviously neither side is going to reach out to one another to try and better themselves for the community anytime soon. More people are interested in whining then doing.

One of the core values of EMTBravo and this forum is promoting working together, sharing information, and learning together. At times, we've been diverted by the propaganda mentioned above, but I ask that those who truly care about the jobs they do pay no attention to these people, and discuss the topics or issues at hand.

We're not here to provide a forum for those who are just here to stir the pot. You waste our time, and everyone else's times, and the staff will have zero tolerance for anyone's nonsense and hijacking of threads by anyone who has an "agenda". An opinion is one thing, but tirelessly harping on it is another. We're also not tolerant of posts containing "Oh, here we go again", etc. If you have an issue, don't self moderate the thread. Contact a moderator or staff member. That's what we are here for.

On that note, I want to reenforce that EMTBravo.net's Staff will continue to work to maintain EMTBravo.net for those members with a true interest in being an active member of this community, sharing information and ideas, and working together. Those who contribute in a positive fashion to this forum are greatly appreciated, and we'll do our best on our part to try and put an end to any kind of nonsense that detracts from posts, threads, and members.

Thanks

Seth G.
