  1. After these misguided individuals finish with OWS maybe they should go and protest outside all of the Universities and Colleges who charge astronomical tuitions to attend putting individuals in debt up to their a** before they even graduate and find a job. There's something nobody has any control over and won't say s*** about.

They probably wont do that because most of these misguided individuals are actually going to those colleges and universities that mommy and daddy pays for.

  2. not really true...dc911 still dispatches HVP (care1ems) when plesant valley cant get out. and usually the kingston crew covers the call since we have been posting them in plesant valley on the weekends and over night during the week.

When PV cant get out on BLS calls? because I can assure you ALS calls in PV on off hours MLSS gets dispatched auto....Unless they give Empire/HVP/Regional/Care1EMS a call asking if they have a unit before they dispatch.

Kings Court Apartments fire victims stay in shelter; candles caused blaze, chief says

The Mid-Hudson Civic Center will remain a temporary shelter at least through Monday for about two dozen residents of a City of Poughkeepsie apartment building severely damaged by fire Friday morning, American Red Cross of the Mid-Hudson Valley officials said.

City Fire Chief Mark Johnson said investigators had determined the blaze, which roared through the five-story, 65-unit Kings Court Apartments on Cannon Street, was ignited by candles in apartment 410 that were either lit or recently put out. The heat from the candles transferred to the table they were on before flames traveled through a hole in the wall and spread, Johnson said.

  7. I am new to the whole applying for grants thing. I know the country as a whole is in a fiscal crisis but does anyone have any info on obtaining federal or state grants to build a new firehouse. I know there is alot out there for equipment and such but I have been having trouble finding info on grants for buildings. Any help would be appreciated.
