It's just a single lead. Good for rate and rhythm but a lot more is needed. Even if you could wire up all 10 leads to an iPhone the ability to provide electrical therapy and monitor an airway will necessitate the larger device. As far as the accuracy there shouldn't be any real du
I would love to have that. So what that its only a single lead. No one is claiming it would replace a full monitor. Its just a cool feature to have.

Where is their station in Yonkers? Would be interesting if they were right down the street from Empress like AMR used to be.
We are at the Home for the aged off of exit 5A on the Saw Mill. We are close to Empress base.
-
We do not operate in a smokey area. The pt MUST be moved to a safe area for treatment to begin or the ems providers will be holding their breath. Treatment begins in the rig or in a safe area near it.

Sorry I didn't recheck thread sooner. Care 1 is going into transcare and empress territory. A couple of snf in new roc and Yonkers call care 1 now.
-
I work at care1 Yonkers. The pay mentioned by my co worker is accurate.
-
A new division in Yonkers will be opening up soon servicing the above mentioned nursing homes.
In Orange county, the company must operate under regional should they do mutual aid work into PA.

works great until they get flagged down on the way back from a transport for a pedestrian struck in trauma arrest....
I'm sure they'd drive by, but I'm sure they'll do the right thing and call in a regular unit. This ambulance is not for people like you and me.
1. It works just as well as the other citywide ambulances which is to say not to well.
2. Citywide having a lxury ambualnce is funny knowing how we just switched from lifepak 11s to lifepak 12s this month.
3. I dread doing flag downs with citywide in any truck, Most of my partners haven't backboarded since EMT school.

Oddly Hudson Valley lists some 3 hour medical control classes at WCMC. I assume they would count in Westchester as caull audits too? I shouldn't assume but its probably a good guess that they are since a WestchesterMACed doctor would be doing it.
-
Websites were check before the posting. The reason I ask was a call audit session in New Rochelle by Transcare medic was mentioned that is not listed on the Westchester site. I suspect there might be more unlisted ones.
-
Anyone have any upcoming call audits they know of?

All the luxury inside cant help the lousy roads it gets used on.. "Oh I am sorry that pothole caused us to spill your champagne, on the 300 count sheets!!" Are the crew uniforms made by Armani?
As a Citywide medic, I have seen the outside of the truck but not the inside. Armani uniforms? yeah right! The stuff my bosses come up with! If it gets me overtime great! I doubt it.

delte this. Alread posted.

I would rather transport to a trauma center 20 minutes away than a closer local hospital.

Clarkstown, Orangetown, Haverstraw, Stony Point, Ramapo, and Spring Valley.what? No 44 control dispatchers? (sarcasm)

I went there in 2002. Was a good program with about 6 participating hospitals (catholic medical centers) lots of options as far as ambulance rotations and er rotations. I believe they took a hit when their governing body closed some hospitals. I think that there is another program competing with then now. Ill try to find out. There are no competing programs. All of the classes and rotation were done at SVCMC's hospital on 12th street and 7th ave for class 27 (2007/8). They just opened up a brand new classroom facility for the current class, class 28. I believe John, the CIC, expanded rotations to Empress for class 28 which would have been nice if it had happaned my class.

So how many rigs cover White Plains? BLS/ALS?
How are they dispatched?
Where else in Westchester does Transcare provide 911 service to?
-
I graduated in August. There is a current class in right now.
-
Ill be there.

I like working at WEMS.

Only in NY d things smell better and people have a problem with it.

I have seen prolems from fire departments. I have witnessed one young fire officer in charge respond to an incident on the Thruway in less than top form. I won't get into what less than top form means but you can imagine it didn't make him look to good for the other agencies involved.
I personally have never had a problem with the SP on the thruway. However I can believe the problems i have heard on the thread and elsewhere. I just hope not to encounter any problems myself.

Private sector union companies will often vote to take pay cuts when the employing company is in financial straits and wants layoffs. This is new to the public sector possibly. This is just a form of pay cut. So basically the firefighters think its better to get a pay cut than layoffs.

I thought transcare ran the 911 units for NYU and Beth Israel.
