  1. 1) have PD on scene in case neighbors hear (and not see) the entry and call it in as a B&T in progress (or at least notify them of the circumstances.) 2) Allows the PD to document the call and memorialize any previous damage or damge that has been caused. This way you don't get blamed for more than you actually had to do to gain entry. Some departments will even send their BCI out to take pictures to document same. 3) It allows the location to be placed into the PD's CAD system for future reference. Or perhaps their CAD system may already have notes in it that can be beneficial to you i.e. nighbor in apt-6 has a key to the premises etc. 4) The worst case scenario=you are doing a forced entry on the wrong apartment/house, resident in a dead sleep etc. or any other circumstances where the resident is not expecting someone to be entering their residence and they have access to a weapon or they have a large dog in their apt. that hasn't eaten in a week. Having PD on scene will help mitigate most problems and provide for a safer environment.
  2. Most elections are about picking the lesser of two evils. This one is about not picking the lone 'evil' candidate. If you really listened and watched the body language during the debate I am not sure how anyone can remotely suggest that Nobama looked any more than humbled at the end. Yes it would have been nice to have them state facts and touch on every subject, but, there are time constraints and there will be more debates. And they want to get their point accross as best as possible-both sides. The lack of respect Nobama displayed toward McCain speaks volumes. Nobama was so rattled that several times he couldn't even remember whom he was debating. Quite honestly I think Sen. McCain won Nobama's vote at the end. I am not a huge McCain fan but you have to give credit where credit is do. That was over three decades of experience speaking. The man is wealthy, had an incredible life and is 72. This begs the question....why run? I think its simple-the man is as patriotic as they come and doesn't want to see our country turned over to this mutt and democrats so that they can take even more of our hard earned money and give it to other mutts as well as preserving our nation from a national security standpoint. The Palin Bidden debate will interesting. My prediction is Bidden will start out as a gentleman and then blow a fuse and lose it continuing to make a jackarse out of himself-he can't help it
  3. I understand he may be a suspect in other unsolved flatulenations and will have to appear in an outdoor lineup. Kidding aside, I would love to hear(not smell) the outcome of the charge.
  4. Hey maybe he was working for Radio Cuba and the consequences for going off the air would have been much worse then burning alive...
  5. Thanks for posting-just some-of the facts people don't want to accept about this POS. The points that concerned me...I had no problem being able to confirm them. Equally as important...if someone feel's they are inaccurate then post a rebuttle and disprove it.
  6. do you know who built the DEP'S R.E.P. wagon's? i.e. odyssey auto or krammes etc.
  7. I looked at the other pic at onthejobny.com and I still don't see what the mast is designed to do. Lighting? Satellite Comm's? Wind up key? Can anyone shed some light?
  8. Congrats! Milk the pension dry and enjoy it...
  9. I voted for Bush. And I still stand by my decision. Albeit fueled by the lesser of two evils theory. I just rec'vd a few DVD's from FSP I ordered. The MAN whom would get my vote is Sheriff Joe Arpiro. I have read allot about him in the past several years, but, watching the video was pretty damn refreeshing. I have to say this guy would be perfect for our 'criminal justice' (read:oxy-moron) ..system. Maybe its his being born on the tailend of the "Greatest Generation" or his moral approach to society. Whatever the reason the guy pulls no puches thats for sure and he is certainly no liberal. At the pace our society is moving at we are destined for a civil war-no doubt about it. BTW-how do you suppose our legal scholars and closet Jane Fonda lover's arrive at the $12 million dollar price tag for someone that is sentenced to death?
  10. Nice pic's...with tires that big whats the need for lights and sriens....
  11. I haven't seen a visor light like that before. When its not on it doesn't look like your traditional visor light. Pretty deceptive...in a good way. Would like to see what kind of power it has.
  12. Does anyone know what the outcome was of the photographer that was locked up in Passaic for tresspassing at a fire scene? It was a while ago and the thread was locked. Rick
  13. Mind boggling!...this is what IAB has time to focus on? Issuing the summonses was the least time consuming, of this matter, when you consider how many reports etc. were probably generated in order for IAB to undertake the task of illegal parkers. Its easier for Kelly to send his rats out to target his own people, because, no P.O. in his right mind is going to make a complaint of harrasment etc. against the very people whom are going to sit in judgement of them. If you don't think NYPD Officers were targeted-then why was IAB tasked with this assignment? Could you imagine the political fallout if religous folk, the U.N., or any other poltically powerful group were handed hundreds of tickets? Bloomy wouldn't stand for it..not for a second. MV summonses are discretionary for many reasons (sans hydrants). Sure, the argument could be made that P.O.'s should take mass transit to and fro, but, they should then be compensated under the FLSA for travel time accordingly. Any crime that occurs while enroute to and from work must be addressed by the P.O.'s taking mass transit. There is no discretion in those matters. However most guys would prefer to be in the comfort of there four wheels most notably for safety reasons while traveling. We encounter hundreds of nasties on a daily basis who can readily identify us in a crowd, but, we aren't always able to place the face until its too late. I have had it happen to me several times during my career and its a daunting experience to say the least. In the end.. the complaint isn't about being sanctioned for an infraction its about being targeted as an scapegoat. But I am sure this is just another way of Bloomy/Kelly trying to implement their morale boosting plan.
  14. I watched the newscast of their mayor and a city council member and they seemed extremely upset. The mutt who they invited to sing stated that only her and her husband (MBD) know what she was going to do before the desecration. Its wrong on so many levels I wouldn't know where to start. Ya just have to keep it tucked in the back of your mind is all....
  15. Detective Sgt. First Class Dwayne Kelley of South Orange was one of four Americans killed when a bomb exploded inside Sadr City's district council building Tuesday. He is the first New Jersey State Trooper killed in Iraq. Kelly, who spoke Arabic, was working to restore local government and services in the former Shiite militia stronghold. http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/jersey/index....xml&coll=1
  16. You would think that getting a surplus vessel would be easy, but, its nothing but red tape and in the end your going to get somebody else's headache. The price tag on the boat they have in mind is pretty extravagant to say the least. We were able to put in a bid for 33' Safeboat with most of the bells and whistles (dive ramp etc.) and that was $234K. Even with it being purchased through a grant it has taken over a year. We have a 24' Good Go craft and a 1960's era Bridge Boat from the military (surplus-with diesel jet propulsion). The Good Go is pretty much the SS Minow and the Bridge Boat needs a ton of money to make it sea-worthy. Perhaps they should look into a grant or hiring a Grant Writer to see what's available.
  17. He's not that young. Coming out of grammar school most of the mutants are as skilled as any 20 year old. I might agree to keep it in Juvenile court depending on what his criminal record and home situation tell. Obviously he must have a good support network as he keeps getting caught and going right back to the drawing board. As for it not being a violent crime-thats just a matter of time. Having your car broken or home into or car stolen leaves a long lasting nasty feeling in your life..thats for sure.
  18. Thanks for the info. Based on the structural engineering of modern cranes I am surprised that Emergency Veh. Manufacturers havent adopted the engineering of cranes and added the TL or aerial ladder to the concept to extend the lenqth and/or load capacity of FF equipment. It probably has been explored and not used for some reason i.e. cost etc.
  19. The ultra-liberal statements made by some people that are directly related to the public safety community-are startling to say the least. Based on what was put in print I applaud the Officer for a job well done. There are several tests affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court that provide for the protection of religous freedom. None of which I can say were violated in this instance. This allegation of a violation of civil rights by this animal just incites me to do go out and do my job. Do it professionally and aggresively. BTW if they have reason to believe she committed a crime-I then have reason to believe she is an animal (for those of you who will cry because I said she is animal). The real victim here is obviously the state (the complainant) and the Officer's involved and there families. They will have to do deal with the non-sensical allegations made by a cunning criminal in many ways. Our way of life and our beloved Country are in such serious trouble because of liberal scum that wring their hands and cry everytime they get a chance to get on a soap box...we someday will implode. God Bless America!
  20. Great pic's. Good point-I don't see anyone with harness etc. However I agree with ny10570 in that it probably did a great job of stabilizing itself. And on top of that the piece of steel and the base swing arm of the 230C lent a hand in stabilizing. The quickest and best option may have been to utilize any crane at the site to help stabilize the beam. Two questions- a) what does BSI stand for? and b.) I am sure it varies but what it the tip and/or lifting capacity of a TL?
  21. Not if we refuse to let what our Nation and Military has done for the world be forgotten...every little reminder helps
  22. haha Agreed. And Jerry Orbach aka Det. Lennie Briscoe would make a great judge...he played the character well thats for sure..
  23. Amazing how this homeless/criminal SOB all of a sudden has a family and friends that care about him and are outraged and devastated that the jury found the Officer Innocent. Typically LE Officers charged with crimes related to their job are guilty until proven innocent. One of the few occupations where double jeopardy is merely a suggestion. Even the notion that the Feds are considering bringing civil rights charges against him is disgusting. Hats off to the jury for paying attention to the evidence or lack there of....
  24. Their main studios are in North Bergen N.J. About 5 minutes from the Lincoln Tunnel. I have been there while they were filming quite a few times-especially when its slow on the air. The staff and actors are always extremely cool with us and take very good care of us with food (they put out some spread of food) etc. The last time I was there I finally got to meet Mariska-not only was she a hottee but allot of fun and had that aura about her. Chris Meloni nearly ran me over leaving in his old beat up Ford Bronco. They do allot of filming in JC and use our East District fairly often....oddly enough they don't do much to change the look of the precinct when they film...its pretty kewl seeing the precinct on TV.
