Dr. Zuki

Many area private hospitals (including all in Yonkers except Cross County Hospital) had their own ambulances used for emergencies up until maybe the early to mid-1970's. Does anybody know why this service was discontinued ? I am not sure also if the local police department's utilized them for all emergency calls. Happy New Year Dr. Zuki Yonkers

The YFD foam truck is now located on Kimball Avenue just below Yonkers Avenue in southeast Yonkers. Anybody know why it's not located in the heart of the industrial areas such as Nepperhan Ave-Saw Mill River Road??? This would be the most likely place where foam is needed. And did Mount vernon discontinue theirs? The Foam sign is still posted on the station outside door. Happy New Year to all Dr. Zuki
