    Anybody know anything about Sean Penn filming "Fair Game" in a Battle Hill house the other day?

    They were also at the Westchester Medical Center.

    Saw this posted on Imdb.com, but no details on www.onlocationvacations.com.

    Angelina Jolie's "Salt" film was to film weeks back at either the County courthouse or nearby office building, but maybe those plans were scrapped. Anybody know??

    Has anybody ever been aware of plainclothes K-9's on a permanent basis??

    This came to mind after remembering that Yonkers PD briefly did plainclothes

    K-9 detail going way back when northeast Yonkers was drowning in daily house

    burglaries and I believe they did the detail in the Crestwood part of town with the PO

    in plainclothes "dog walking" walking through the residential neighborhood, including use

    of a non descript anti crime car that might have been a green Chrysler Newport.

    But since K-9 in a marked car alone is such a tremendous deterrent, maybe plainclothes

    would not be practical.

    What type of stunt were they filming Friday night on Van Cortlandt near Radford Street??

    The star's detective car had a hose and a device rigged to the outside of the passenger door.

    Was it for a very minor explosion??? The Journal News today said the car was to explode, but I doubt it

    having worked in these projects before and seeing the car with it's original roof still intact. If the

    car was to totally explode Friday night, then they would have had the effects guys rigging it hours ahead

    of time. Leave it to the Journal News to get it work. Anti-cop Ernie Garcia must have written it...

    The other night I had the 11PM re runs on and it looked like a scene was shot outside the NY State thruway

    rest stop just above Stew Leonard's.

    Did I hear this one correct last night that a paving machine on Riverdale Avenue was impounded???

    How were they able to put it on to a big flatbed tow truck without turning it???

    These machines have those army tank wheels and treads...do they roll without the machine turned on???

    So what other unusual MV impounds have been done over the years???

    What happens if you have to impound a truckload of refrigerated food, etc during the summer time???

    I remember a truck load of live bees overturning on I-287, White Plains, in the mid 1990's. LOL

    Would there be any sense in merging the Yonkers PD citywide Sreet Crime Unit into the precinct anti crime units which perform the same plainclothes duties??

    Correct me if wrong, but doesn't citywide SCU basically confine itself to southwest Yonkers?? Is it a duplication of the precinct level anti crime teams??/ Regardless, they all are doing a bang up job... just wonder if there is any sense merging citywide into the precincts or not.

    Judges will not order internet providers to divulge IP addresses, the internet providers won't give them out either.

    Yonkerstribune.typepad.com already won a case like this that was brought by the head of the Independent Party in Westchester. BUT....he still had to file legal papers at his own personal great expense.

    And I can tell you for a fact that even private investigators cannot get IP addresses. And what happens if the IP address comes back to an internet cafe or a public library that does internet access with library cards???

    FYI: Back in the early 1980's or so, Yonkers had an agreement with the Greenville FD to cover any fires at the nursing home located on the corner of Jackson Avenue @ East Grassy Sprain Road, Greenburgh. Iit was written up in the newspaper along with mentioning that YFD Station 14 would also respond to the Fountainhead condos on Central Avenue @ the Greenburgh border. Not sure if this agreement still stands or not...

    Good postings by both Chris and Toybuff 911,

    The newspaper also failed to mention in detail that much overtime comes from the private sector paying the city $68.00 per hour for rent a cops. Stop and Shop in Cross County has one assigned each and ever night.

    How many cars and boats were seized via forfeiture/ seizure laws by YPD Narco?

    And were they auctioned off or being used for undercover purposes???

    Heard that once YFD HQ is demolished for the Cappelli project, they are planning to temporarily locate into an industrial building off of nearby Elm Street. This issue was presented by YFD guys at a recent city council committee meeting and there are concerns regarding the length of time in the temporary location.

    Where exactly is this? There are industrial buildings around the corner on St. Casimirs. For their sake, don't even consider moving into the YPD HQ annex on St.Casimirs-it's an asbestos ridden rat hole.

    Would it be at all feasible to use some type of construction type trailers???

    The Bronx location on Waters Place is an office complex located right next to the Hutch southbound below Pelham Pkwy.

    It used to be Bronx Psychiatric Center and now houses Mercy College and some other office tenants with two new medium height buildings being planned.

    Office jobs are long, long overdue in the Bronx, and with cheap rents, this project will fly.

    What's up with the proliferation of gravity knives ( sometimes known as CAT knives) being found on so many perps lately?

    I know they recently busted two gas stations in Yonkers on Central Ave in the 2nd Pct sectors for selling them.

    But they are still too common....

    They seem to be much more common lately than back in my day.

    Supposedly back then, if the knife blade was longer then the width of your four fingers held together, it was illegal!!!

    Actually, I think that was a NYC code violation and the story traveled north to our county.

    An outdoorsmen friend told me that you can legally buy unassembled switchblades via mail from Soldier of Fortune type magazines and switchblades are actually LEGAL in some states, believe it or not.

    If a folding knife does not open with the flick of a wrist, like a switchblade, is it legal to posess if concealed.???

    Well to clarify---when they say gang members, is this term used to just describe a bunch of friends or do they actually mean actual members similar to made members of the Mafia. Big difference.....any group of kids can be called "A Gang."

    Or better said, how many are estimated to be in the recognized gangs such as Latin Kings, Bloods, Crips, etc in Yonkers???

    You also have some locals like the Arab Knight Possee, Hoover Road Boys, Party Harty Killers, Elliott Avenue Troopers, Mexican independents, etc.

    Many, many aspiring members out there. It's like comparing made mobsters with associates.

    The entire story still sounds exaggereated in numbers...

    So again yesterday the Journal News reports the alleged gang summit consisting of 300 gang members and taking place weeks back at the vacant Glenwood power station. This story sounds quite exaggerated considering there may not even be a total of 300 gang members citywide.

    The other quoted number of 17 gang bangers sounds more credible. Can anybody give us the scoop please???

    OOPS!!! CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE.....the rig seen today is not a mobile command center, but is a training apparatus as per a private message just received that I could not reply back to you.

    Driving on Nepperhan this afternoon and saw them working on the new Yonkers FD command center.

    It was out on the street opposite their warehouse next to Axminster Street.

    It is quite large and is black in color with a red cab and some very tasteless graphics.

    As it is now, it resembles more of a concert vehicle then any emergency service command center ever seen.

    Was thinking maybe it will premiere at the seminary this Saturday for the Pope's visit.

    He arrives 4:30 PM. Anybody know what time he will depart and how long the concerts will go on into the night???

    Asking since I'll be driving north from NYC....should probably skip the Deegan alltogether and stay on the Henry Hudson to Saw Mill....

    A friend called 911 and was transported by Empress in Yonkers from the area of Midland Avenue @ Bronxville Road to nearby Lawrence Hospital for a charge of $400.00.

    Does Empress and the others have fees based on the mileage from your home to the hospital requested, similair to taxi cab zone charges????

    Do volunteer ambulances charge either residents or non residents for emergency trips to local hospitals ?

    And what about the Town of Greenburgh PD ambulances?

    Statflight charges $4K for a trip to the County Medical Center???
