  1. The Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Dept is trying to put together a Fire Department Softball Game for departments in the Putnam/ Northern Westchester area... As of now, there is no set date- but we want to try to get the games in during the July/ August time period (hopefully majority of the parades are over by then)... Our plan is to have it over a weekend during one of these months, starting early in the morning and going until we have a winner... If you think your department would be interested in putting a team together, please let me know... Hopefully we get a good turn out and have a good time...

  2. 414- im not trying to bash or blame anyone in particular.. it just seems like there are minor problems that need to be fixed... im not sayin that i can do a better job- i respect all of you at the center and you all do an excellent job esp. when things hit the fan... im sorry didnt mean for any bashin or negative comments towards anyone in particular...

coat- extrication gloves, survivor light, latex gloves, wire cutters

pants- Res-Q Tool-> used this on 2 extrication calls and works great!!!, besides that, 2nd pair of gloves (good quality work gloves)

  4. Im not 100% if that was true or not... I know the scene created alot of confussion and probally stress levels were high but I dont recall any arguments occuring unless it was on the side were nobody saw it... With many factors that come into play, this call put alot of pressure on the chief officers who were in charge...

  5. it was a mini bus w/ 8 children going to camp kiwi(where i work)... all 8 children were transported to Northern Westchester BLS to be checked out... one child had a minor bruse under left eye and another had a minor cut to the arm, other then that nothing to big for the children... 3 returned to camp later that day the rest went home w/ parents... the driver of the bus was back today but was in the passenger seat, w/ another driver... location of the call was croton falls road past the crossway heading toward St. Joes (putnam county- mahopac fd district)... M/a supplyed by carmel, somers, croton falls, and north salem.... the first dispatch was mahopac then croton falls was notified right afterwards... both bus and car were totaled... as for ic- i know county car 4 (putnam county) was working w/ mahopacs chief and they both worked w/ the chief from croton falls... overall all departments from putnam and westchester worked good together and great job by all... quick response and everybody handled themselves very professionally- and they people from camp kiwi extend their deepest graditudes to all of us...

  6. In our department, many of the members dont have gearracks, so they have to leave their ppe in their cars... the only thing is that our department frowns upon going to the scene in your own vehicle... but overall, id rather leave it at the house b/c its less of a hassel trying to gather your gear and putting it on when your trying to get on or even make a truck...
