  1. just curious lhfdvolly... im from Purchase and i was wondering why you think that we should have went with the Rescue-Engine??? I personally dont see the need to have water on Rescue 30. Especially since we added an additional engine and quint tower ladder in the past 5 years. just my opinion...

Primarily manpower. My concerns are mainly based on vehicle related incidents and in your coverage area I am sure you still get plenty. Why don't you email me and we can talk, I'm not sure this forum is the place; lhfdvolly@yahoo.com.

  2. We have had no problems with KME factory support and also

this is our 3rd KME with the same saleman and had no problems.

    Pete,

Nice truck! I saw it when we were down at the factory inspecting our new Squad. While on the subject of service, we have had problems with our dealer which I had to rectify in a meeting down at KME. We pushed KME into setting up another authorized service center at this shop in Milford, CT to handle the excess work in the state. Our dealer's service center was too overloaded and couldn't provide us with good turn-around time.

If you read this send me an email at: lhfdvolly@yahoo.com. To see pictures of our new squad, go to www.longhillfd.com. I haven't posted in-service pictures yet but they will be up soon. Also, go to the Station 2 page to see our new ladder tower.

Take care and good luck with the new rescue. Hopefully I will see you at Purchase's inspection dinner this year,

  3. Unfortunately Purchase no longer has the old Seagrave Quad, it had to be sold due to space consierations.

I believe that Purchase still owns the quad but it is being stored with a collector in Pennsylvania. From what I also was told at their inspection dinner last year, they have access to the truck whenever they want to use it. Also the correct year of the quad is 1957 not 1956. This was the first fire truck that I had ever driven back when it was still powered by a V12 gas engine and a 5 speed crash box.
