    To the poster above If your house was on fire,with your family inside would you be thinking of how much money the Vol Dept was saving the taxpayers. Having paid firefighters in the fire house 24/7 is the best possible protection.That being said not all towns can afford to pay full time firefighters this I understand. Most firefighters paid and Vol have to remember the fire dept was there when they came and it will be there when they leave,you dont like the chief that the mayor appointed QUIT,like I said the fire dept will still be there Remember we are all just passing through

    Arson fire routs residents of Yonkers apartment building

    YONKERS - A two-alarm arson fire damaged two apartments in a five-story apartment building today.

    No one was injured in the 12:40 p.m. blaze at 94 St. Andrews Place, off Riverdale Avenue.

    Deputy Fire Chief John Flynn said someone spread a liquid accelerant in various spots inside a third-floor apartment and in the hallway outside. The fire started in the apartment, then spread to the apartment above.

    Residents said they heard an explosion, then fled the building as the fire erupted.

    The fire was under control by 1:10 p.m.

    Residents were barred from the building as of 1:40 p.m. It was unclear when they would be allowed back in.

    What most people don't realize including AROD is the Yankees will still be the Yankees win or lose (26 world champs) the team with the BEST players on baseball played on, yes they have history as a kid in 77-78 I watched the best players of that generation play and win in the mid 90s I watched the best players play and win (new faces) and in the years to come I will watch more great YANKEES come and win and go. 1 thing here stays the same do you get it YANKEES .PS CONGRATS TO BOSTON they were the best team with the best players Arod and boras asses for what they did DURING THE WORLD SERIES

    Any young person intrested in a career in public service should take this test and all other exams that come out ,if you score high on the exam you could take the job or just say no. Why do this every exam you takes serves as practice for the next The more test you see the better a test taker you become. As for being a volly and turning down a job I know as a young man or woman your Vol firehouse seems great fun,exciting and you have a group of friends there as you get older,married house payments things change NYST pays almost 100k. If anyone in the 15-22 age group reads this and says hes an @ss,talk to me in 10 yrs and let me know how things have changed. Just some advice from a not so old guy with lots of bills

    Today is the first time I watched this video NO WAY are these guys with 4-5 rigs putting this fire out If I were to pull up on this at 3am with 4eng 2trks and a rescue I would still call for additional alarms and I still see this one burning down. 1st min of the video you can see the smoke churnning and then they pan to the roof about 5-6 min in and thats roaring to, best they could have done is save the truck

    I started this debate from watching the video these where just my observations I guess all involved think the right thing was done, others on the board fell the line would have been better off going in the front door. Maybe all the guys in favor of the BLITZ attack should get together and write a book of FF tactics What the hell do Norman, Dunn,Clarke and Casey know
