  1. I was home watching the Weather Channel when my wife called and said a plane hit the Trade Center. I put on CBS 2 News ans saw the second plane hit. When the first collapse happened I called the firehouse and somehow got through and I told them I was heading in. GFD E151 was already down the City. I worked the day and then my regular night tour.
  2. I AM NOT to be confused with capt 32, although he was my relief for years with the Greenville FD. My name is Rob Kerr, a career capt. with the dept. since 3/79. I'm also a CFI for the county DES and some of you may know me from the training center. And I AM NOT my twin brother, Bruce.
  3. Congratulations to Class 03-2005. The graduation was was great and a great job was done by Capt. Ferguson and Lt. VanVorhees. I was truly greatful to have spent a day or two as an adjunct instructor. Best of luck to all the brothers and I hope to see the Westchester guys in the future. Be safe and don't stop learning. 4. To SFRD49, you were working for Abbey when that retired GFD guy had the .357 magnum under his pillow. And to think you ended up in Greenville. For that matter that I'm still there. Now that the A/C is retired I'm #2 in the Dept. Now that's scary. capt36 aka Rob
  5. I read the article in Newsday today. It's no real secret that the Island has the most and prettiest apparatus in New York, right down to their gold-leafed chief's cars. I'm all for public safety and understand that the burden is on the taxpayers. But the money spent on the gyms, personal trainers and of course the bars in the firehouses is not for public safety but to attract new members, yeah right. Give me a break!
