Sounds like they got their act together, or are trying to. Bravo! Glad to see some departments taking progressive steps (whether late in the game or not) to get up to speed, and hopefully a little ahead of the game!!

So TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, there might be no more DRINKING while driving? Can you get charged with an open container?
-
I'm glad you cleared that up. The last time I was in the city, I think it was Fire Patrol 3 I passed by, and still saw the rig sitting in the bay, and got confused if they were actually still around or not.

LMAO!! Wow, too funny. It will be interesting to find out what the verdict was on this situation, whether this is old news, or new.
-
I think we need to start verifying claims here!!

Damn you're gettin' old Tom!! Hope you had a good one!

Sweet!! Can't wait to see them in action!!

East Fishkill once got called to Patterson with 39-46 (FAST vehicle) for a fire. Seems on that night there were several large scale incidents going on at the time. East Fishkill (95' aerial platform) has been called to Putnam for other things in the past as well.

Wow!

Aw, sounds like an awesome episode, shame I missed it.

Wow, I wish my French was not so rusty. I can translate a few conversations, but a rap, HAHA! I can barely understand/translate people rapping in "English".

Yea, this video and associated discussion has been posted several times already on EMTBravo. Tried to find the associated threads, but failed to quickly. Am too tired to keep trying to look though.

From the description earlier, it probably is. I have had that video in my favorites list for a long time. A wonderful tribute. Brought tears to my eyes.

Nope. The day danb posted that link, I was able to view it. Guess he started getting nasty messages or something. Gives us honest buffs a bad name, like 10-Buff-4 said.

Funny you should ask. In a thread by EMTBravo, entitled "What Can I Do With My Points", Seth explains!! Hehe, forgot to insert the URL at first. http://emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=19103

I think so far I may possibly have the most points. I deposited all I had from day 1 of the bank, and, well, if someone decides to donate, oh, lets say 22,000+ pts I would totally rock EMTBravo points!!

See what the exchange rate is for Monopoly $$. Buy stock in the Short Line RR, I heard they are making a resurgence as a first rate RR over that darn Reading RR. Just be sure to avoid any Luxury Taxes.

East Fishkill hosted an MCI/Haz-Mat Drill on August 8, 2006, involving an "incident" at the EF town hall. Situation involved an active shooter, gunshot victims, explosion/fire, and haz-mat situation at the EF Town Hall. EF Fire, EMS, PD, and Town officials, as well as m/a ambulances worked in conjunction. http://eastfishkillfiredistrict.org/Distri...ill_8-19-06.htm

LMAO! I was wondering the SAME thign there EXDC203!!

Depends, were they white coats? P.S. this was not an attack on any individual, I originally mis-read the post to say "about firefighters". Besides, if we all cannot have a good laugh, what is there to live for??

Ya know, I knew this drobinson, but it didn't even click when I was posting. So very true. FDNY are idolized by many in the vollie communities, and people want to be like them. While not ALL are like that, like you said, people pick up on others bad habits.

For me, it is usually out of sheer forgetfulness. I know a few people I have talked to do it "because it helps if you go down". For those who have taken FAST, for a victim to be dragged by their pack harness, you should disconnect the waist strap, and feed one behind, and one in front of the legs, going through the legs, to make it a cradle in your, well, crotch. This being said, these guys feel "it will save the guys coming to rescue me time to connect them between my legs". Funny thing though, if you go down, who the hell knows where your waist straps will end up. If they ARE in fact buckled where they SHOULD be, there will be no searching around for straps under you, or accidentally tucked BEHIND your waist, stuck between your back and the pack. Just my 2 cents.
