  1. Omar did it via an e-mail what a real man.................... That is why the METS are a minor league team. No matter how much you dis like the Yankees and the Boss (George) he did it like a man and that was that.

Willie Randolph = #30 in the real pinstripes (Da Yankees)

The news says that Omar called him into his hotel at like midnight and told him face to face. Not that it wasn't a sumbag way to fire him...cause it was. They could have waited untill the road trip was over.

Gee that didn't answer the question at all...lol.

Well I don't work for 60 but to me a poss. structure fire is when a caller says they see fire or smoke showing from the outside. Or they might say the hall is filled with smoke, or there is smoke coming from the door down the hall, etc...

An inside investigation is when they say I think a smell something in my house, office, etc... and they think it might be smoke.

  3. The cops got a grant, a donation from a local supermarket owner, and the foundation chipped in for the horses and training. While I’m not totally sold on the idea, I do know that mounted units are way more visible then a cop on foot and they are very useful for crowd control. Summer in MV brings out large groups for street fairs, basketball till all hours of the night, and to just hang when the heat is too much in a building. These horses might be useful. My main concern is who will clean up after them? Curb your horse....lol.

  4. Jones Beach has a EMS "squad" we call it...lol. I don't know exactly what the name is. They have ATV's with BLS capabilities. They are the guys in the bright yellow shirts roaming up and down the beach. I believe the County PD out there handle the ambulances and do the transporting. Similar setup at Robert Moses Beach.

  5. You do not get charged for calling for help while skiing in the backcountry in the USA. Backcountry skiing is perfectly legal as long as it is not on private/restricted land. The stroy about the Alps is true depending on which country you are in. For example, Switzerland I know charges you for rescue but I think France does not.

Now as for the unauthorized swimming....Same is true in Harriman State Park. If it is not a beach with guards you are not supposed to swim there. If you are in a swimming hole in one of the rivers and you are caught by a ranger or park police they can write you a ticket.

  6. Where I work The Deputy Chief Is the IC and if he needs mutual aid his aid will notify our dispatchers who will contact 60 control. 60 control has our mutual aid list. Its important that our dispatchers know who's coming and where their going incase another alarm comes in.

There's been times when the dispatchers have been left out of the loop by a coordinator. Our dispatchers then sent mutual aid company's on calls when they were already sent to the fire scene without them knowing, causing confusion and a delay. For example the dispatchers would have mutual aid in town to cover a firehouse. Then they get re-routed to the scene by someone else. The dispatchers thinking their available send them to another call. They don't respond.

The system works great for some departments, It seems to add some confusion where I work and might need to be re-thought as to how the battalion can best assist.

No matter what I've experienced I know the intentions of the Battalion coord. are to always help the best they can.

Took the words out of my mouth LT!!!! Man did that mess us up.....

  7. I like the Ferrara Ultra cab, other than FDNY and Mount Vernon, NY and now Pelham- did any other Ultra's get delivered?

    None, to my knowledge

Since this is a 2004, was this a demo or did it see service somewhere else?

    Never, only went to shows.

Also, will Engine 5 become the new primary Engine, or will Engine 4 still retain that title? Also, what's the status on R-45?

Engine 5 will become first due. R45 is in reserve status.

    Nice rig.

    What happened to R45?
