Good Evening,
The Norwalk Firefighters Local 830 will be hosting a warm up to St. Patty's day on March 6th at Oneills Pub. The benefit is to raise money for the Lenihan School of Irish Dance who will be traveling to Dublin, Ireland to compete in the Irish Dancing World Championship( one of our fellow members daughter is competing).
A $20 donation is all we are asking for and there will be food and drink specials throughout the evening. Of course there will be dancers performing from the Lenihan School. I believe some members of the CT Firefighters Pipes and Drums will be performing and maybe the Norwalk Fire Pipes and Drums will come out of retirement.
Please come out and support the Norwalk FF's as we try to support the Lenihan School of Irish Dance. Thank you for your time.
The event starts at 4pm.

Guys, for the past 15 or so years I have traveling to Utah to go skiing at Alta and Snowbird, both these ski area's are at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon Road. This road is incredible how steep and dangerous it can be at times, there is no bs in what they say during the show about the danger of the road. That area of Utah gets amazing amounts of snow, every year(550 inches last year)I have been stuck up top on a few occasion's and once just barely made it down the road just as they were closing the gates. It is an awesome area of this country of ours, and I recommend if you ski or snowboard to make a trip out to Alta or Snowbird, you wont regret it, I promise.

Gary was truly the pride of Belltown. I always saw a smile on his face and a big hello any time I walked through those doors. Rest in peace friend.

I was justed issued a Phenix leather helmet at work to demo. I kind of like it, it is a bit lighter than the new yorkers we usually wear. It does sit a little high on my head. The nice thing about the helmet, is that the liner and ratchet system is alot easier to remove than the cairns.

The beer by products is true. I plow for a friend and we get whats called "Magic Salt"its treated with beer by products and mollasses. It works better at lower tempature than regular road salt or calcium. I have to admit the stuff works get and smells really good, but it is very expensive.

Anyone know anything about a possible crane collapse or problem with a crane on Washington Blvd in Stamford???

Having been to Ireland many times, I would recommend staying in and around the Temple bar area, or the Oconnell street area. There are lots of hotels and things to do in those areas. The guinness brewery is in walking distance from Temple bar, probably a 15 to 20 minute walk. Enjoy yourself and bring an umbrella, you will need it.

There was an eye doctor in Westport, Ct named Dr. Doctor. I am not sure if he is still around, I remember going there as a kid.

The truck was carry a full load of furniture.

I was at this incident. We responded eastbound with Engine's 3 & 4. Upon our arrival Wesport engine's 2 & 4 were westbound on scene flowing a deck gun knocking down the fire. When we pulled up there were no cars going through the area were they were flowing water. I dont know if that is Westport's SOP. I am not sure if anyone here is from Westport. Only they can let us know what ther SOP's are.

The rig is going to have regular compartment doors I believe. It is due to be delivered sometime around the end of the month.

I have heard that the guys at Rescue 4 are doing between 150 to 200 miles per tour.

Alan, that is the way all of the newer rigs in BPT are numbered.

The boat is going to be equipted with a 400 gpm pump. The staffing is yet to be determined, stay tuned for that answer, and yes it is long overdue. The boat is also going to support our dive team. The companies have been drilling on a new saltwater pump that we just recieved. It has a small pump that salt water will not have adverse affects on. It can pump water through a 1 inch line up to 300ft. We will use it if we were to get a brush fire or something small on one of the many islands off our shores.

If I remember correctly, I believe they filmed in Norwalk years ago. I am unsure if it ever aired or not. But they would get some good footage now, as they are very busy lately.

The boat will be docked by itself on the East Norwalk side of the river, close to the quarters of Engine 3, those are the members that man the boat.
