  3. I know that consolidation andd regionalization are big topics on this forum, so I was wondering, what do you guys think of consolidating or even regionalizing Orange County law enforcement and what would some of the pros and cons be?

Personally, I think a county-wide police force, either merging the SO with the local agencies or creating a new agency would be ideal, but will never happen. Even if the cities were somehow convinced to go for it, or kept their own departments, it would still be impossible to implement, because the local chiefs would not want to give up their power and their would be that whole State Police/Sheriff's thing on top of it.

I do think however, that consolidation on a smaller scale, ie. within towns would work and should be done.

  4. Hello everyone. My name is Vincent, I have recently became involved in emergency services, I am a member of the Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and am entering training for NYC Auxiliary Police later this month. In addition, I have been a member of the Orange County Police Cadet Corps program for the past three years, with a current "rank" of Cadet Staff Sergeant for Administration.
