If people do not know the airport has a staging area which has a building to be use as a command post of the county airport. On MSN and Goggle maps the Staging is not build yet. It is near the New King St. entrance.

There is a way for Volunteers Firefighter gets the same training just like our career brothers. It may take us volunteer Firefighter longer to get The NYS Firefighter Certifications. Course like Basic Wildland Fire Suppression are almost never giving in Westchester. If the County gives us Volunteers firefighter Candidate Physical Ability Test of us to get our The NYS Firefighter Certifications. I would love to see more fire department officers and Chiefs push their firefighter to get The NYS Firefighter Certifications. I would like to see Fire Instructor tell their Firefighter 1 Students more about New York State Certifications.

“Getting to know you” series is a great idea to know what each department has on their apparatus. I believe that you need to know not only Apparatus and Special technical teams that available but what type of training that you’re neighboring department.

I believe that if an aircraft went down were Rye Lake that is near the airport would be a bigger problem then if a plane went down in the Hudson. If a plane did go down were Rye Lake who is the fire district would that be and can they handle water rescue. If not how long would it take to get boats in the water?

Any nationally recognized first aid course including CPR and AED training, and meeting requirements of NFPA 1001.
