  1. Does anyone have an dept SOP on using the system?? I need to write one, I'd like to NOT reinvent the wheel if it's already out there..
  2. What time did you get there to get the 2:00 tickets? I got there at 1:00, and they were all gone.. I did score tickets for the 2nd cruise though..
  3. I went there today also, and got to go for the 2nd cruise. If you ask nicely, the will take you below decks and you can see the 5 engines and the 4 each 4000GPM pumps.. A litttle hot and cramped down there, but I guess most engine rooms on ships are. They have a one way trip from Dutchess Co to NYC when they leave. They said to get to the dock at 9AM Sunday, and they are leaving at 10AM. They get to NYC atbout 4PM, and you can take the train back.
  4. What happened to the old MA-14?
  5. Does anyone have a good SOP for using the I Am Responding.com system? My dept is going to evaluate it for possible use, but I need to get an SOP ready for the 2 month evaluation? I have talked to several people who have used it, but none have written SOP's for it. Any comments on the system in general? Good, bad, or ugly? Thanks in advance.
  6. Im just looking for something that has an "overview" of what the system does, how it works, and what the member needs to do, and how the info should be "read and interpreted" in the station. I know it sounds crazy, but I need to have this SOP done before the system is implimented. My members and line/chief officers who have been given a "sneak peek" at it think it will help solve some issues we have had in the past, as do I.. I know this whole thing is a "cart before the horse" but thats just how it is for us right now. I have written some of it up, and am looking to see what others have done/written to add to it. It's not a huge deal, but if I dont have to reinvent the wheel, thats a little less work for me.
  7. I saw those threads, talk to the IAR.com people at the Chiefs show in Mass, all thats holding us up from testing it out is I need to write an SOP.. If someone has one already done that they wouldnt mind me using and molding to our needs, that would be great. I hear great things about the system from everyone.
  8. Hello all. My name is Mark. Im currently a FF and Commissioner in Marlboro, located in Ulster County. I have been a voluteer FF since high school, where I was with a large volunteer dept in Northern Westchester. I am now back in the Fire Service in Marlboro. I have been a FF for 5 years here, and was voted in as a commissioner last Dec. Marlboro is a small community located just above Orange County, bordering the Hudson. We dont get a ton of calls (less than 200 last year), but we have good turnouts to drills, calls and social events. As for our dept, we have 4 pumpers, 1 rescue truck, and 3 chiefs cars. We have the typical mix of calls for a small dept in our area. I am looking to get help with advancing my dept so we can provide even better service to our townspeople, going from a good dept to an even better one. We are in the process of buying a new pumper, and making several changes to improve our service. Thanks!
