  1. I did miss that line in the article and I apologize. The fact remains that he was not listed as a driver in the organization and was most likely not on the insurance to drive. The article also states that his suspension was a result of many instances where he violates rules and regulations. Although I do not know what the other incidents were, my opinion thus far is that he is a bit of a loose cannon and needed a reality check. There are several of those types in agencies I belong to. He is also quoted as picking up a blank sheet if paper and quitting on the spot. Personally I feel that was a bit extreme. Take your punishment and go back to work. I feel that action showed immaturity. Just my view on the situation. Again, stay safe all.
  2. Perhaps it is the insurance company that made the age restriction. Everyone is so quick to jump on the officers and board about it. If the insurance company requires a person to be 21 years old to operate the ambulance, this made him an uninsured driver and left the corps and himself open to a huge liability. As far as someone asking where the 7 board members were for this call, are they members or are the community representatives? Yes there is a lot of BS politics and personal agendas in volunteer EMS, but it isn't always at the fault of those who govern. Sometimes it's the big mouths and the cliques that cause the problem. Rant over. Have a happy new year and stay safe!
  3. Thanks again guys. Got the official word that as of tomorrow afternoon I can kiss sleep goodbye for a while as mommy and baby will be coming home. I also want to thank the staff of putnam hospital birthing center for all they have done. The nurses there were absolutely outstanding! They were with us every second of the process even before they found out we were both MOS (that just got me a cup of coffee...). Thanks to everyone that has called or messaged me with their well wishes. It means a lot to Jackie and myself to have such great support from our brothers and sisters. Thank you again and happy holidays to you all. Pat wisker
  4. Thanks guys. Momma and baby are doing great. It's been a long day to say the least. The last time I went over 40 hours without sleep was a very long time ago. I guess I'm not a young gun anymore!
  5. Personally I feel this tool is a waste of money and compartment space. I have seen this tool used and was not impressed. I was able to cut the windshield of the car in less time with a glass master. Just my humble opinion.
  6. What an incredable story. It sounds like the entire town, especially the police department and mayor gave this boy a wonderful life. Condolences to his family and friends. 10 years old is far to young to be lost. A salute to the PD for the beautiful display for this young man.
  7. As far as I know bee-line does not monitor emergency dispatch (I would imagine if they did they would know when there is an accident on their route and wouldn't ask me what was happening). This particular driver she is POSSIBLY speaking of MAY be a person who runs a Facebook page.
  8. Nice! Many people don't realize the challanges the PPD face on a daly basis. For a small city it is quite busy. Be nice to see them get a K-9.
  9. It is a fiat. They own Chrysler. Still a hideous looking truck. But we thought the same about the sprinter.
  10. You beat me to it! Many people forget how easy it is to overload a vehicle. Anyone who drives a commercial vehicle or even tows a trailer knows how dangerous it can be to have an overweight vehicle.
  11. Wasn't able to find anything saying a brand on that link, only a "new utility vehicle". I also found the bid packet for the new utility from the dobbs ferry village website stating a ford f550 chassis in the specs. I'm having a problem with creating a link. I'll try later on the home computer. Not tryin to argue guys, just bored enough tonight to want to discuss another departments utilities. Lol
  12. Where? I can't find any info on what it's being replaced with.
  13. I would imagine that if a student had a physical impairment that prevented the successful completion of the course that their IEP (individual education plan) would make an exemption to it.
  14. Requirement of CPR for a drivers liscence. Not graduation.
  15. I have been in contact with a gentlemen from bumbleance who informed me there will be one in NYC within the next few months! They are trying to make a push into the US and are starting with New York. I will provide more information as it becomes available.
  16. This is wonderful! I know it may not seem that significant to everyone here but for myself and mofire390, who have a young relative with one of these dogs, it was enough to bring a tear to this burly rednecks eye! A great big thank you to the person who returned echo!
  17. I hope echo is found soon! My cousin has one of these dogs. They are a god sent for families with autistic children!
  18. The idea behind the 3 digit department number may have been to avoid confusion with unit numbers. For example, if the chief of department 12 calls out "121 to 60 control" is this 12-1 or 121 an engine from montrose? I feel westchesters number system is less confusing than some that are out there.
  19. I have been in EMS for 13 years. The only thing I carry on my person is a pen and a watch with a second hand (not digital). Everything else goes in the bag. I understand the new hire jitters, I was new once too. Keep calm and carry on. That's all you have to do. Put your name on your gear and f need be, get a small jump bag to keep it in.
  20. Firemoose, it's almost like the magnetic cleaners for fish tanks. It's thin and stays in the corner of the mask till it's needed. When you move it across the mask a magnet drags a cloth covered block across the inside of the mask.
  21. Everybodygoes said it dude. I'm thinking the mask is the wrong size. You should do another fit test.
  22. Was that a peekskill box rob? I have 2127 at home. Was the box for peekskill plaza.
  23. Yeah... Bag always works.
  24. The chiefs request for additional resources.
