  7. We do pumps as well, but there is a small section where a stream tends to flood a couple houses, and we can't do anything about it. We will assist them in moving items to higher ground if asked to though.
  8. I know Gardiner FD and Ellenville FD (both in Ulster) have had quite a few hang gliders stuck in trees over this past spring/summer. I'm not sure if there's any FF's from those departments, but it'd be pretty neat to hear how they dealt with it.

  12. Figured I'd get this thing going again since I haven't introduced myself. Most of you have seen my IA's for Ulster County, which is where I reside. I'm a member of the Lomontville Fire Department, which is pretty much in between Hurley and Stone Ridge. We are a rural fire department, 15 square miles or so (I think 10 of those alone are cornfields ), and we get less than 150 calls a year. I'm hoping one day to get into dispatching, as I love knowing what's going on at all times. I've taken a couple tours at the Ulster County Communications Center in Kingston, and absolutely loved it.

  15. I'm definitely a newbie to this site, just joining in March, as well as a newbie firefighter, only being in the FD for a little under 7 months. I've learned a great amount just from reading all the posts on here, and I hope you can find a way to keep this site up and running. I mainly joined here to read all the IA's, but now I'm a daily viewer, and I'll definitely miss coming here everyday!
