  1. As we are always looking to make the forums better and easier to use (and figure out where to post) , we've consolidated several forums. We've decided to do this after some research and considering the stats of each forum. General Emergency Services Discussion & General Apparatus Discussion into "General Emergency Services Discussion" Buy-Sell-Trade, Sites Worth Visiting, Current Events, Weather & Photography into "Off Duty > The Lounge" All topics that were previously discussed in the former sections can be discussed in the newly consolidated section. Thanks! Seth G. on behalf of the EMTBravo Team
  2. Members, Our forum is established to serve a community of people who have an interest in a particular area, it is a place for people to exchange ideas, thoughts and comments and a place where people can discuss things which they find interesting or important. With that, we're proud to announce and welcome our three newest moderators that will help me with the day to day operations: FDNY 10-75 (actually continuing in his longtime involvement with the site) INIT915 PEMO3 They will be on board to help facilitate and participate in the conversations, to moderate the conversations when needed, and to keep a helpful eye out. They are here to help the over 500 members who visit daily, as well as the hundreds of guests. Also, RWC130 is staying on as Community Manager-Special Projects & Events and TR54 as Protection From The Past Manager, so events such as the muster can move forward. Tommorow, we will be posting an opening for an additional staff member. Welcome all, and thanks for you help! Seth
  3. For years, I've wanted to have a mission statement for EMTBravo. Here it is:
  4. The NEW EMTBravoWest.com is back! EMTBravoWest.com is the EMTBravo for California, Arizona, and Nevada, and the rest of the Southwest US and Pacific Northwest. I appreciate everyone's patience and loyalty during this extended downtime. We had a major technical issue while I was hospitalized in March, and the server hosting company mistakenly "reclaimed" the server, and deleted everything with it while I was hospitalized for over a week with no cell or internet access. So, we have to start from scratch again. We did have backup, but it was "corrupted". I am truly sorry, and very upset that this happened. But, right now, it's water under the bridge, and we will move forward. A new backup system is in place in case something like this happens again. EMTBravoWest.com Members will have to re-register. Please feel free to post after registration in our "Introduce Yourself" thread. Additionally, please reach out to anyone and everyone you know to let them know that EMTBravoWest.com is back online. I'm also looking for some help to grow and run this forum. Please see the "Help Wanted" thread for further information. We are still working to improve and add more features to the site that will make the site more enjoyable for all. Once again, thank you for patience and loyalty. I look forward to seeing your posts on EMTBravoWest.com. http://www.emtbravowest.com Seth G. Founder & Forum Administrator Email: seth@emtbravo.com
  5. The issue has been resolved. Thank you for bringing that critical issue to my attention. Much appreciated and look forward to your registration.
  6. We've simplified the Incident Alert to the template below, to simplify filling out an Incident Alert and make it quicker and easier. Don't forget, the topic title should be in the following format: (Town/City/Village)-(Incident Type) xx-xx-xx For example: Anywheresville-Seond Alarm Structure Fire 05-01-13 If anybody has any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to post on this thread or PM x635
  7. Members, Our forum is established to serve a community of people who have an interest in a particular area, it is a place for people to exchange ideas, thoughts and comments and a place where people can discuss things which they find interesting or important. We are looking for members who wish to join our staff to help accomplish the goal above. If interested, please send me a PM telling me how you can contribute to the success of our community and what you would bring to the table if chosen. Right now, we are mainly looking for someone well-versed in our Incident Alert section. Although we only have a limited number of openings (one at this time), we will review everyone and keep you in mind for future openings should you not be chosen. Please do not take anything personally. Thanks! Seth Email: seth@emtbravo.com
  8. Please use this thread to report problems or bugs found with the newly resurected forums. Please include as much information as possible, including what you were trying to do, what feature you were using to do it with, what browser, and anything else that would help us get to the root of the problem and fix it as soon as we can. I am working on the photo upload issue.
  9. When you post an event, please don't forget to add it to our events calendar as well. This allows it to come up in the "Upcoming Events" sidebar on the forum index, as well as the "Upcoming Events" feed on the portal. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php/calendar/1-upcoming-events/add And don't forget, you can view the calendar at anytime by clicking the "Calendar" tab above. If you have any trouble at all with the calendar, please contact me seth@emtbravo.com Thanks! Seth

  12. Is anyone having issues when trying to access the site, beyond what may or may not be normal for you? Do you get 404's, etc? If so, please let me know and clear your DNS Cache.
  13. Well, as you may have noticed, EMTBravo has been down for over a week, while I was in the hospital for 10 days. Came home to this, and losing 10 years of work brought tears and did not help my recovery. But, after a week, here we are, still crossing my fingers. The most recent backup we had was corrupt, so we had to back up, salvage this one, and will have to build on from here. What I need from you is patience, and give us a chance to work out the kinks and bring the forum back, and please post, post, post any current events and IA's to kind of bring us back to today forward. Stay tuned to this page for status. Thanks! Seth
  14. Fellow members, Over the past several months, we have had an issue with the ad banners. When you clicked on them, depending on where the ad was on the site, you would just get taken back to our site. This issue has now been fixed. If you experienced this issue, please try clicking on the banner again to be brought to the advertiser's website. As always, we always encourage you to patronize our advertisers whenever possible, as they, (with the generous members who donate), to fund costs associated with the site. Please let us know via our Bug Tracker system if you encounter any issues. We truly appreciate your understanding. Seth G.

  16. Tonight, at 0001 hrs on 1-1-13, EMTBravo will turn 10 years old! Maybe it's just me that's excited over something so trivial, but to me, it means something Seems like it was just yesterday when I sat dow at my computer, enjoying the relatively new, long awaited broadband connection, at my apartment in Woburn,MA on New Year's Eve, when on a whim, I decided to create a website to replace my email list. So, the very simple website went live at 0001 on New Years Day, and, like a snowball down a hill, kept growing each and every week that went by. Photos and information poured in to post on the original site. There had never been a site like this in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT, and was launched before anyone had really every heard about Facebook or the term "Social Media". You could tell imediately that this was something that people had wanted since learning the word "Internet". Heck, some people only ventured on the internet for EMTBravo, and that's the only use they had for it.. Seven months later, the EMTBravo Network forums were launched to replace the "News" section of the original site and become an interactive and dynamic way to exchange information and ideas . EMTBravo has expanded tremendously in both size and geographical areas covered from the small, Westchester dedicated site that it originally was. And to this day, 10 years later, the site keeps growing and I stil have the passion for it that I had on Day 1. It's still our vision, and it's been proven over the years, that firefighters, police officers, EMS workers, 911 Dispatchers, and everyone else with an interest in emergency services can work together, can become friends, can develop ideas, can learn from one another, and can make anything happen. Of course, it was our first mission to "get the word out" which is still true to this day. One of the things that I am proud of, is that members of the site when it was first launched are still active members and staff to this day! The loyalty and support of this site by the all of our members has been awesome, and has made the site what it is. Personally, one of the things I'm most grateful for during the entire 10 years of this site was all the great friendships that I have made along the way, that I probaly wouldn't have ever met had it not been for this site. And we intend to use this oppurtunity to celebrate! Look for special 10 year anniversary features throughout the year, starting tommorow with an EMTBravo Quiz! Seth G. , on behalf of the EMTBravo team!

  19. Fellow members, We've made a major revision to the forum's layout. Instead of the Incident Alert, Local, and Apparatus Coming Soon forums all being in seperate places, we've combined each county/region into it's own section. This is a beta test, and keeping the layout will be evaluated in a few weeks. Here's a visual: We hope you find this new layout more useful and more enjoyable Seth G. , On behalf of the entire EMTBravo.net Team We're always looking to improve the site....if you have a suggestion, please feel free to email us at seth@emtbravo.com
