For those going up, if you could please snap a photo of my old rig - 1979 Seagrave tractor-drawn aerial (ex Ridgefield Park NJ and Cliffside Park NJ, now black over red). Andy bought it a few months ago and I assume it will be on display up there. Thank you in advance!

So they ordered a KME tiller, Pierce Contender pumper and Seagrave pumper all in one year.....
-
Any idea what they plan on doing with my old rig?

What did Hartsdale hit?

I've been wondering the same thing. Aren't the Squad's out for bid as well?
-
I think it is pretty tough to get one but I could be wrong....I believe Seagrave stopped making the Lo-Profile cab, but I remember seeing a 2008 Seagrave Maurader II (not Lo-Profile) rearmount 100ft on a single axle. I think it was to some department in Illinois or Indiana.

On my Seagrave tiller was have a ten-inch bumper, mainly just to house the Q siren. We have 2 4-ft rook hooks mounted on the bumper.

Anyone know of any update on the tiller order by FDNY? I had heard a while back that they were putting them out to bid but have not heard anything since.

Brian, will this be on display this weekend in Wildwood like 11 was last year?

Unfortunately...these things are not a joke. Parts of my town are infested with them, and the volunteer EMS building is now dealing with its third infestation in a year with the bugs being brought into the ambulances by residents who live among them. The problem is that these things have nothing to do with a persons cleanliness. 5-star hotels around the world have them and they are almost impossible to get rid of.

In my vol. fire company, the driver of the tractor is responsible for aerial operations. The way that we normally work it is that the tillerman is responsible for assisting the operator put the aerial into operations (putting down the jacks, chocking the wheels, etc). Once the ladder is in operation, the tillerman is usually the first member up the aerial for roof operations, vent, etc. I'm not sure how FDNY operates but I am assuming its somewhat similar to us.

Does anyone know if its coming from Seagrave?

Andy any idea why they are going with a rearmount instead of a tractor-drawn aerial?
