  1. How about all the ER expansions lately that never consult with EMS? Kingston's looks great, but like Vassar's, you have walk-ins crosing were ambulances are moving thru, and the transport rigs are trying to move people out. mad.gif St. Francisis? C'mon folks, before you build, ask those who use it what we would like to see, suggestions. Architiects are generally not EMS providers, and often have no hospital experience. Vassar's nice computers look great. They have a nice CiC, except ... the charge nurses' backs is towards the door EMS door, and it is at ground level. Raising it 6 inches would give them the ability to oversee what we are doing and have better command and control. AND, I didn't mention those $%^&**^$@# loading docks from the daze of the Caddys!blink.gif

they don't consult the people working in the ER let alone the people that are there for a few mins lol...it seems more time than non functionality is the least concern

I did not get your PM until now. I don't know who added that information in, I will go back in and credit you though.

As far as the question about why all four traumas went to the same hospital, I was talking about that very issue with some people I know today, and we couldn't really come up with a good reason for why that is. It's not like WMC is the only level one trauma center around; both Hackensack and Morristown are in the area and may even be slightly closer depending on the location of the incident.

...i looked at some articles about the accident...sounds like there were 3 kids involved....are Hackensack and Morristown Level 1 peds trauma centers....maybe that had something to do with the decision....

  3. Just had a question.... i live in yonkers and was monitoring them throughout the storm.... pretty busy down here as well.... towards to the end of the night after the storm passed FSU 1,2 and 3 came into service. They were pretty much only dispatched to trees and wires down to secure the scenes and than go 10-8. What are these FSU units and are they only called into service for major incidents/storms... or incidents that have a high call volume?

  4. I have a friend who is very intrested in becoming a NYPD officer... I was wondering if anyone had any information on both the written and physical portion of the tests... what do they entail?? also any information on other resources that could help her prepare for the written test would be greatly appreciated (websites, books, etc.)
