For years command related classes have been trying to get IC's to request resources "BEFORE" they may actually be needed. Just as the other poster has said, it's easier to turn them back than to get them started too late. I am in full agreement with this policy. It's better to have it on the way and not need it than to realize that it should have been requested 10 minutes after it would have been useful.Another point I would like to make is that additional resouces at scenes in both winter and summer particularly dealing with extream temperatures give the option to rotate out companies so they can rehab for a bit. This may be one of the contributing factors toward the high death rates (due to heart attack). Aside from physical conditioning, the fact we are working our people harder than usual at scenes may come into play.
Just a though.
Could not agree with you more. simply put. The majority of the time the answer is right infront of you!

Just sounds like A Cluster to me!

There was somebody up there taking shots from Bravo.

Hats off to the boys from Thornwood nice Rig!
-
As it is looking now it will definitly not be DRY!!!!

i think there just looking for fire runsThats what I figured so with this you really are seperating Fire and EMS in Somers' case?
-
I know that at least one definitly has one I believe its 2334, I don't know about the other 2. All of them youst to when they had the Expedition and the Caprice Wagons.
-
Another Factor I was thinking about is does it matter if the Department Runs EMS along W/Fire or just Fire?

I believe the requirment for stripping on rigs is it has to be atleast a 3 inch thick reflective stripe on both sides of the apparatus. I am really not sure about the rear of the rig, Personally I am a fan of Highway stripping.

Form what I hear there are problems on the top of Charter Circle with hitting Towers Especially Briarcliffs. 2331 also had problems calling control and Ossining FD HQ to request TL 44 to be put on stand-by.

Since We had the topic in the past few days on your prefrence of gear color. What do you think about color coding Helmets to signify Officers, Etc.
Also I know that Nyack in Rockland also goes as far as Color coding Company Helmets.
For Instance:
Millwood: Chief: White/ Capt.: Red/ Lt.'s: Yellow/ Safety Officer: Blue
Briarcliff: Chiefs: White/ Officers: Red/ Ladder Co.: Yellow

Black to me looks the best, Traditional is more the reason. Have heard alot of positive feedback from Departments who switched from black to Tan, PBI Gold, Etc. about how much cooler they are in the lighter color gear. The Natural color I think its called that Katonah & Bedford Village wears is also pretty good looking aswell.

I think the actual title is "Battalion Cooridinators". Their role is basically to assist the I/C with requesting and directing incoming Mutual Aid apparatus. Each battalion consists of anywhere from about 5 to 10 neighboring departments.Thats sounds pretty accurate to what I've been explained as there role at scene's. They are pretty much the Liason between IC and Control.

Thats Correct! The LaFrance Fleet (Nice Rigs). Also Lodi is Pretty good but no Foam.

Or even Food Coloring and or Foam. Seen both in NJ.

Nothing Peronal, the reason I was given by someone.

If I may safely assume the "public" is invited (unlike Rockland County)ÂFYI: reason for that is to keep it an FD affair and not have to let just anybody (non-Fire) in to FREELOAD. Otherwise all FD people could have gotten in with either an ID or even wearing an FD T-shirt and pointing it out, most definitly if you are not from that county and they don't know you or even your department. Just to inform.

That is the truth!

That would be a great addition to the forum tools, Hope it happens.

Yeah, Pizza and Pasta Thornwood had 2 Engines, Tower, Utlity and 2 Chiefs onscene. Visible from outside was just haze inside store. Looked like tower laid in. Con-Ed requested and yes Health Department also, forwarded message stating they would respond in morning. Also Batt. 16 onscene aswell. Not a huge job but something going on in the county, its been very calm?

I think the utility is replacing the old Suburban they had. I believe for multi-purpose use. Also maybe to tow there boat around with?

Don't remember the name of the place but its in the A&P shopping center in Goldens' Bridge has huge slices like one is equal to at least 2 regular slices. Some probably know where I'm talking about. Most Unique slice I've ever had was a Chili Cheese Fries Slice from some place in Seaside Heights Jersey about 2 0r 3 years ago.
