  2. pretty much as I know it, there has to be an american flag (obviously) and a minimum of one guard, carrying anything or not (not sure which side he has to be on if there is only one). If there are multiple American flags there has to be two guards (one on each side). if there are multiple flags (Ex. State, POWMIA, Dept.or Comp. flag.) the American Flag has to be all the way to the right (as if u are in the colorguard, the left if u are looking at them from the front). Banners I believe are optional. Also if not mistaken all Guardsmen have to wear all matching Items, Citation Cords, Silver or Gold Collar Brass, Badges. Etc.

  3. Millwood Dispatched to a MVA Taconic State Parkway Southbound in Area of Pinesbridge south in median for an MVA Involving a Motorcycle. Control Advising 2251 per Firefighter onscene stating operator has left, Per State Police Witness saw Operator get picked-up by a motor vehicle leaving scene. All Units canceled enroute, Unfounded.......Alittle Strange?

  4. Hey 635, didn't we have a conversation about this not to long ago? lol.  I agree, absolutely ridiculous.  During a parade after winning a trophy or whatever.  It often scares young children and make the experience unenjoyable.  As far as after winning a trophy, to me it just says hey look at us we're a bunch of yahoos, look at what we just won that will collect dust, be forgotten about in 2 years, take up space we really don't have anyway and we're either really slow so we don't use half this stuff, or instead of training we're spit and polishing.

Disagree, Depends on the Department. There are Departments in this County that Bust there Asses to win and they see work........Simply Pride and Honor?, Also maybe showing the Taxpayers that there $400,000 piece of Apparatus they Purchased 5-10 years ago is being taken care of and mantained and not just kept looking like a hunk of Garbage. This is really concerning the End of the Statement. And Yahoo's? maybe just Dedicated Members, Yet agian depends on the Department, not going to say that there aren't some out there that should concentrate on more than "Social" Events.

I disagree with the Siren during a "Dress" Parade with the exception of maybe the Host Department (Alittle noise within reason isn't that Horrible). And Yes there are Rules for Disqualifacations of certain Judging Assoc. on uses during Dress Parades.

  5. Kinda varies to each department. My Departments procedure is usually new one every two years, goes to the head chief and they are passed down by rank (Chief to 1st. Asst. to 2nd......) After the 6 years as a Chiefs Vehicle its become the "Spare" or a "Utility" Vehicle....Then from there Back to the Village for whatever they wish. Last one (1997 Expedition) went to the Water Department as a Confined Space Operations Unit. Get ur Moneys Worth out of them. The Trend thats seems to be happening is the Get new when u go in and keep it till u go out.

  6. Ossining put a picture of the new ladder 41 and the old one on here not too long ago. We used that rig when ladder 31 had to get a fly section replaced. Ladder 31 was out for awhile, Port Chester thanks Ossining for the use of there ladder. I wonder where it is now?

It was Sold to a Collector from Yorktown and is being stored upstate. Did u guys like using that rig, I loved it personally, so small and skinny. U could get that thing anywhere. Also Moved to, had alot of Character.

  7. My Rig is a LaFrance... we have a Seatbelt Alarm, When Pressure or "Weight" is put on the a** of the Seat it triggers an Alarm in the Cab and it will not stop alarming till the Seat Belt for that seat is fastened. I have seen that on Multiple ALF's, Not entirely sure its standard but I would have to say by seeingit on so many it probably is. U can Cut the Wire or un-plug the sensors but saftey reasons we opted not to. Its just a Safety Factor everyone has become a custom to that rides the rig.
