Don't speak on what YOU do not know!!First of all you can't even get the chief in charge correct.
second we do use Castle Point when it is needed. Fireman 3484 is correct it does change with different chiefs just like almost every other fire company when a new chief is put in m/a plans might change. Castle Point and Chelsea have always been their for each other when needed.
You must listen to different radio than I do because our response times have improved greatly. So like other vol. fd's in todays world not everyone gets out right away.
Castle Point is their for any department to call not just Chelsea. They can be their for initial attack or as a fast team.

I wonder what his Department has to say about the matter... And, once again a reminder to all of us that, as 1st responders, our personal actions are constantly under scrutiny by the media and the public.Would the AP have run this story if the subject in question were not a FF ??? Don't think so...
everyone will prolly disagree with me. but
personally, i dont wear one.
and i think if its your time to go, then its your time
no matter seatbelt or not.

So at about a quarter after 1pm while heading into Westchester over the TZ, I saw a NYPD Explorer heading into Rockland with it's lights on. Anyone know a reason why they would be doing so? I've seen a rare NYPD Impala in the streets of Nyack every so often, but I'll guess they were just passing through.actually, yesterday around 145ish 2:00 around there, i was at the crash gate with my fire company, in Vails Gate which is by newburgh and i seen that NYPD explorer lights and sirens flying northbound i-87...

Two stories about the same wreck. Seems like there are a lot more apparatus accidents lately. Is there a problem with the apparatus or is it the drivers?
i personally think its other drivers.
they dont pay any attention to an oncoming fire truck.
they are not hard to see or hear coming down the road.
